Go Deeper. See Clearly. Create a Cohesive Series.
100 Works: Making Meaning
You’ve made your 100 WORKS.
You’ve experimented, explored, and surprised yourself…
Now it’s time to pause, step back, and ask:
What do these pieces reveal about my voice?
What threads are worth following?
How can I make my next body of work stronger, bolder, more me?
In this four-week, small-group workshop, we’ll turn your 100 Works into a guide — a living map that reveals what’s calling for deeper exploration. Through conversation, analysis, and making, you’ll clarify your direction, refine your vision, and begin building the next phase of your creative practice.
Clarity comes from making—and from reflecting.
What We’ll Do Together:
Explore & Analyze — Review your 100 WORKS with fresh eyes, spotting patterns and hidden strengths.
Find Focus — Leave behind what’s not working and lean into what excites you most.
Scale Up — Translate your experiments into bigger, more ambitious work.
Write About Your Work — Develop language you can use in statements, captions, and proposals.
Experiment Again — Try new materials, new color choices, and new ways of working.
Create a Series — Bring clarity and cohesion to your practice.
Make More — Use guided prompts to keep the momentum going.

Lisa Pressman: Artist, Mentor, and Educator
My journey as an artist began early, surrounded by creative energy and the tactile beauty of materials. As a teenager, I was introduced to pottery, which sparked my curiosity about transformation—how raw materials could become something entirely new through exploration and process. This fascination deepened during my undergraduate studies, where I transitioned from ceramics to painting, discovering the power of layering, abstraction, and mark-making. That shift laid the foundation for my lifelong pursuit of art as both an expressive language and a space for discovery.
For over four decades, my work has been deeply rooted in curiosity, process, and emotional exploration. I see painting as an excavation—uncovering layers of memory, intuition, and feeling through color, texture, and materiality. My practice incorporates techniques such as layering, and stitching, engaging with the unpredictability of materials to create work that is both personal and universal. My paintings have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, finding their place in private and public collections.
But beyond the studio, I am just as passionate about teaching as I am about creating. As an educator and mentor, I have guided countless artists through their own creative evolutions—helping them refine their voices, push past creative blocks, and build cohesive, meaningful bodies of work. My approach is intuitive and deeply personalized, meeting artists where they are and challenging them to go further. I believe in the power of process-driven discovery, where risk-taking leads to artistic breakthroughs and self-trust replaces hesitation.
Through international workshops, mentorship programs, and one-on-one guidance, I help artists uncover their true potential—not by imposing a formula, but by fostering the confidence to experiment, explore, and embrace their unique artistic path. Whether in my own practice or in my teaching, I bring an empathetic, supportive, and experience-driven approach to everything I do. Because at its core, art isn’t just about technique—it’s about uncovering something deeper, something only you can create.
Let’s find that together.
My Practice
My practice is rooted in curiosity and emotional expression, often incorporating rituals like layering, burning, and stitching. I describe my process as an “excavation,” uncovering hidden emotions and histories through paint. My work has been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide, and I have become a sought-after mentor known for my ability to inspire and transform my students.
My teaching philosophy emphasizes exploration and discovery. I believe in meeting artists where they are and helping them uncover their authentic voice. Whether through my workshops, mentorships, or my own practice, I bring a warm, empathetic, and insightful approach to everything I do.
